Jorhat: The Gattani Ply AITA Super Series Under-14 Tennis Tournament concluded on Friday at the Jorhat Tennis Club with an outstanding display of talent from young players, particularly the home contenders. Sanskriti Saurav Borah and Nibras Kawsar Hussain stole the spotlight, each lifting two titles and completing a memorable double crown.
In the girls’ singles final, Sanskriti Saurav Borah of the host club produced a remarkable comeback to defeat NRL’s Kristi Haloi in a thrilling three-set clash, winning 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. She continued her winning streak in the girls’ doubles final, partnering with Arisha Mahin Choudhury to register a confident 6-3, 6-4 victory over Mrigakshee Changmai and Ayushree Nath.

On the boys’ side, Sivasagar’s Nibras Kawsar Hussain dominated the singles final with a commanding 6-0, 6-0 win against Guwahati’s Chandra Mohanty. The two later teamed up in the doubles event, overpowering the pair of Eashandeep Boro and Anirudh Bora from NRL with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 finish.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Makhan Lal Gattani of Gattani Industries, senior sports enthusiast Dr. Tapan Dutta, and Dr. Bharat Phukan. Club President Dr. Animesh Baruah extended his best wishes to all participants, while Tournament Director and Honorary Secretary Santanu Thakur smoothly conducted the ceremony and expressed gratitude to the sponsors for their support.
