Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang Stable After Hospitalisation for Nose Bleeding and High BP

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, who was hospitalised on November 13 after suffering a bout of nose bleeding and elevated blood pressure during a public event, remained stable on the morning of November 14, according to a health bulletin issued by the Central Referral Hospital (CRH) in Gangtok.

Tamang had fallen ill while attending the finals of a musical competition at Rangpo Ground and was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. His elder son and MLA, Aditya Tamang, said the chief minister has a history of nose bleeding and was shifted to the hospital as a precaution given the potential risks.

The CRH bulletin noted that Tamang was admitted following a “minor episode of nose bleeding and elevated blood pressure” and received prompt medical care. The Medical Superintendent stated that the chief minister was under observation and remained stable, adding that there was no cause for concern.

Aditya Tamang said his father was recovering well and is expected to be discharged on Friday. The hospital confirmed that it would continue monitoring his condition as per protocol until his release.
