Guwahati: In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, the Border Security Force (BSF) Guwahati Frontier, in coordination with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Guwahati, apprehended an Indian drug smuggler near Jalukbari, Guwahati, along with approximately 9 kg of heroin worth ₹18 crore. The seizure was made from a Creta vehicle used to transport the contraband.
Acting on precise, real-time intelligence about drugs being trafficked from Manipur and concealed in the vehicle, BSF personnel swiftly launched a special operation on 19 November 2025. Working closely with NCB Guwahati, the team intercepted the suspect and recovered the high-value narcotics during the operation.

The arrested smuggler, along with the seized vehicle and heroin, has been handed over to the NCB for further legal proceedings.
Officials said the operation highlights the excellent coordination, alertness and efficiency of both agencies in curbing drug trafficking in the region. The BSF reaffirmed its commitment not only to safeguarding the international border but also to combating all forms of smuggling and anti-national activities with unwavering vigilance.
