Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir visited the revered Maa Kamakhya Dham on Neelachal Hill this morning, offering prayers and seeking the blessings of the goddess. The spiritual visit comes just days before the much-anticipated second Test match between India and South Africa, which is scheduled to commence on November 22 at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati. Gambhir was accompanied by his team officials during the visit to the temple.
Both the Indian and South African cricket squads arrived in Guwahati yesterday, marking their presence in the city ahead of the two-match Test series decider. Upon arrival, the teams were promptly escorted to their accommodations at the Radisson Blu Hotel to allow the players to rest and begin preparations for the upcoming high-stakes match.
Today, players from both the India and South Africa Test teams will begin their on-field preparations at the ACA Stadium in Barsapara. The South African contingent, led by captain Temba Bavuma, was the first to take to the field, commencing with fitness drills at 9 a.m., which will be followed by their net practice session. The home team, India, is slated to arrive at the stadium in the afternoon, with their practice session scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
