121 Infantry Battalion TA Rally Sees 2,000+ Candidates at Solmara

Tezpur: The 121 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) GARH RIF is conducting a large-scale recruitment rally at Solmara Military Station, which began on November 15 and will continue until November 29. According to an official press release, the rally is open to candidates from Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, West Bengal and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

So far, the rally has seen participation from aspirants across Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and nine districts of Upper Assam, with an impressive turnout of more than 2,000 candidates. Numbers are expected to rise as youths from the remaining Northeastern states and West Bengal join in the coming days.

To prevent overcrowding, the Territorial Army has organised the recruitment schedule district- and state-wise. The rally has earned praise for its strict merit-based evaluation, impartial procedures, and zero-tolerance approach to malpractice. All stages—including height checks, running, physical fitness tests, measurements, documentation, and medical examinations—are being conducted in full compliance with recruitment norms.

Civil representatives and observers have lauded the smooth crowd management, efficient documentation, and disciplined conduct of candidates. Welfare measures such as free food for selected candidates, rest areas, organised waiting zones, and assistance teams have been introduced to ensure comfort and clarity throughout the process.

The Territorial Army stated that the rally reflects its commitment to providing a transparent and empowering opportunity for the youth of the Northeast. The recruiting agency also appreciated the support extended by the Sonitpur district administration.
