Dinner cancelled at PM, J P Nadda’s residences over floods in Punjab and other regions

New Delhi, Sep 7: The dinner programmer for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs at the residence of party chief J.P. Nadda on September 6, and at the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 8, have been cancelled in view of the severe floods in Punjab and other areas, sources said.

Punjab as well as several northern Indian States grapple with the destruction left behind by the monsoon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Punjab on September 9 to meet people and farmers affected by one of the worst floods the state has faced in recent years and to oversee relief operations and rehabilitation efforts. During the visit, the PM is expected to review the damage caused by rising waters that submerged villages and destroyed crops across multiple districts.
