Jaubane Amoni Kore-2 Unveils First Song and Poster 

Guwahati: The team behind the highly anticipated Assamese film Jaubane Amoni Kore-2 unveiled its first song and promotional poster at a vibrant event held at the Rudra Barua Auditorium, Jyoti Chitrabon Studio in Guwahati.

The song, Rohedoi Rosoki, written and composed by Palash Surya Gogoi—who also serves as one of the film’s music directors—was performed live by popular singers Dikshu Sarma and Chayanika Bhuyan, leaving the audience captivated. The launch drew an enthusiastic crowd, many of whom expressed excitement about the film’s upcoming release.

Produced by Ashok Kumar Bishaya and Happy Moni Bishaya under the Lakshmi Narayan Films banner, the film is slated to hit theatres across Assam on October 10. Ashok Kumar Bishaya takes the director’s chair once again, with Barsha Rani Bishaya as associate director. The screenplay and dialogues have been penned by Pranab Baruah and Barsha Rani Bishaya.

The original Jaubane Amoni Kore, released in 1998, was a landmark in Assamese cinema. It revitalized the industry during a period of crisis with its refreshing mix of youthful themes, popular music, and a cast of new faces. The film’s success turned it into a cultural milestone, sparking a cult following over the years. Its 25th anniversary was celebrated with a grand event at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in 2021.

Nearly three decades later, the sequel aims to rekindle the magic of the original while engaging a new generation of viewers. The film reunites much of the original cast—including Pranjal Saikia, Nikumoni Baruah, Barsha Rani Bishaya, Ankkur Bishhaya, Barnale Poojari, and Uday Shankar—while introducing fresh faces such as Abatosh Bhuyan, Rinayra, Puja Deka, and Sudipta Goswami.

The technical team features editor Ankkur Bishhaya, cinematographers Vali, Kulanandini Mahanta, and Gyan Gautam. The music credits include the late Kshiroda Kanta Bishaya, Palash Surya Gogoi, Manas Barthakur, and Madhusmita Barthakur. Bhaskar Boruah serves as executive producer.
