New Delhi, Sep 8: The Silver Jubilee celebration of the Kingston Carnival was held yesterday at Kingston, England. The carnival witnessed showcasing culture, art and dance from different international communities and tribes across the globe.
Anannya Mahanta, from Assam, India performed the Indian “Sattriya Nritya” at the community stage showcasing ‘Dashavatar’ amidst a crowd of more than 500 people.
Anannya’s performance was deeply appreciated by the masses, where for majority it was an experience of witnessing the beauty of “Sattriya Dance” for the first time.
An introductory speech on the art- form ‘Sattriya Nritya’ and its origin was given by Annanya before her performance, making the masses aware about the dance form apart from highlighting Assam’s rich cultural heritage that captivated the audience even more.
