Library Inaugurated at Kamrup District Commissioner Office

Guwahati: A new library was inaugurated at the Integrated District Commissioner Office in Kamrup district on Tuesday in a solemn ceremony, marking a step towards promoting a knowledge-driven and efficient administrative system. The library was formally inaugurated by Chandramohan Patowary, Minister for Environment & Forests, Climate Change and other departments of the Assam Government, who is also the Guardian Minister of Kamrup district.

Addressing the gathering, the minister said the library would serve as an important centre of knowledge and information for the district’s officers, employees and the general public. He noted that access to books and reference materials would help officials take well-informed decisions, review social service-related matters and deliver public services with greater responsibility. He added that such initiatives play a vital role in building an educated, aware and efficient administrative framework.

In his welcome address, District Commissioner Dev Kumar Mishra stated that the library has been established with the objective of cultivating reading habits among government employees and interested readers, while also enhancing knowledge and administrative efficiency.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Chief Executive Officer of Kamrup District Council Siddharth Goswami, Additional District Commissioners Gargamohan Das, Aditya Gogoi, Bikram Chetry and Pranajit Kumar Dev, along with officers and staff from various departments of the Integrated District Commissioner Office.
