Assam Congress to Launch ‘Raijor Podulit Raijor Congress’ Mass Outreach Yatra from December 20

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) is set to embark on a massive statewide outreach campaign titled ‘Raijor Podulit Raijor Congress’ starting December 20. This initiative serves as a core component of the party’s manifesto consultation process as it gears up for the upcoming elections. By taking the consultation directly to the people, the APCC aims to gather diverse perspectives from citizens, stakeholders, and party workers across all regions of Assam to develop a manifesto that is truly driven by the aspirations of the public.

A prominent lineup of senior Indian National Congress leaders, including Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, and high-level party functionaries, will be on the ground for the duration of the yatra. The outreach strategy is designed to be deeply inclusive, facilitating direct dialogue with various segments of society such as farmers, laborers, students, small-scale traders, entrepreneurs, and women. Additionally, the party will engage with intellectuals, social organizations, and community leaders to synthesize a collective vision for what it terms a “New Assam.”

The initial phase of this consultation exercise will place a specific emphasis on the state’s higher education sector. Discussions will be directed toward identifying ways to elevate academic quality, bolster research and innovation frameworks, and foster greater self-reliance among the student population. APCC President Gaurav Gogoi emphasized that the party is prioritizing public guidance on human resource development, noting that recent interactions at colleges and universities have highlighted an urgent demand for enhanced academic standards and innovative practices.

To ensure no region is left behind, the APCC has organized five parallel field teams, each assigned to a specific geographical route. These teams will cover Upper Assam, Central Assam, the Barak Valley, Bodoland, the hill districts, and Lower Assam. Five dedicated buses have been deployed for this purpose, with each team scheduled to cover one district per day. This operation will be supported and monitored by a central coordination team to maintain logistical efficiency throughout the state.

The formal start of this manifesto consultation process took place on December 6 in Dibrugarh. To complement the physical yatra, the APCC has integrated digital and traditional feedback mechanisms. Citizens can submit their suggestions through a newly launched online portal, www.natunaxom.com. Furthermore, the party is installing over 4,000 “Aspiration Boxes” at high-traffic locations, including markets, bus stops, tea stalls, and tea garden lines. President Gogoi has urged the people of Assam to participate actively in these sessions, stating that the campaign’s goal is to ensure the party’s future roadmap reflects the genuine needs of every section of society.
