Drug Trafficker arrested, Seize Intoxicating Tablets in Golakganj

Dhubri: In a crackdown on drug trafficking, Dhubri police arrested a trafficker and seized a stash of intoxicating tablets during a raid along the banks of the Gangadhar river in Barundanga, Golakganj.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Golakganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Debajit Kalita launched the operation and apprehended the suspect, identified as Mizanur Rahman alias Mridul, son of Habibur Rahman of South Kachokhana.

A search of the accused led to the recovery of 28 tablets of Pyvon Spash Plus, a controlled intoxicating substance. Rahman has been taken into custody, and a case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Officials said investigations are underway to trace the wider supply chain and identify others involved in the illegal network.

Police noted that the operation forms part of Golakganj’s intensified efforts against narcotics trafficking. Authorities reiterated their commitment to stamping out the illegal drug trade and warned that strict action would be taken against offenders.
