New Delhi/ Guwahati, Dec 22: A data released by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on Monday recorded a very poor quality with overall air quality in the ‘very poor’ category in Delhi with a reading of 366, while seven areas of the city recorded severe AQI levels, with Narela amongst the worst.
According to the website of the Central Pollution Control Board, Narela recorded an AQI of (418), followed by Bawana (408), Wazirpur (403) and Anand Vihar (402) at 7.20 am today morning.
Meanwhile, air quality in the national capital was also recorded in the very poor category a day earlier, with an overall Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 377, as per CPCB data.
As per CPCB classification, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51–100 satisfactory, 101–200 moderate, 201–300 poor, 301–400 very poor, and 401–500 severe.
Also disruptions in rail services due to dense fog was witnessed, leading to the rescheduling of several trains at New Delhi Railway Station on Monday.
Meanwhile, Delhi airport had issued an advisory saying that “all flight operations continue as normal.”
The Central Polution Control Board’s (CPCB) website states that Delhi’s air quality is likely to remain ‘very poor’ for the next three days. It is expected to oscillate between ‘very poor’ and ‘severe’ categories during the subsequent six days, according to the Air Quality Early Warning System (AQEWS).
