Bilasipara: A proud moment for the sports fraternity of Western Assam! Bilasipara’s youth athlete Nayanjit Roy has been selected to represent India in the upcoming World Kickboxing Championship to be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from November 21 to 30. The selection was officially announced through a nomination letter issued by the WAKO India Kickboxing Federation.

Nayanjit, son of Bishwamitra Roy and Sabita Roy, secured this honor with his outstanding performance at the National Kickboxing Championship held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The competition witnessed participation from several players across Assam, where Nayanjit clinched the title and confirmed his place on the international stage. Currently training at Kickboxing Academy, Dimlagao, Kokrajhar, and a student of Kokrajhar Commerce College, the 19-year-old’s success has brought immense pride to Bilasipara and the entire Lower Assam region. His achievement has sparked celebrations among family, friends, and the local community, while sports enthusiasts hope that Nayanjit will return with a medal, further elevating Assam’s name on the world stage.
