Bongaigaon: Assam Petrochemicals Limited (APL) has achieved a key milestone with the operational launch of its Bongaigaon project at Dhaknabari, marking the commencement of formalin production and commercial sales. This new facility becomes the company’s fourth operational unit, further consolidating APL’s industrial presence in Assam.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by APL Chairman Bikul Chandra Deka, Vice Chairman Hemanta Kumar Gogoi, and senior officials. Chairman Deka flagged off the first consignment, comprising five trucks carrying 150 tonnes of formalin, destined for markets in West Bengal and Bhutan.

Speaking on the occasion, company officials said the project would not only enhance Assam’s industrial capacity but also open up greater trade opportunities with neighboring states and countries. They emphasized that the venture is expected to significantly boost regional economic integration and strengthen APL’s role as a leading player in petrochemical manufacturing in the Northeast.
With the launch of the Bongaigaon unit, APL has added a new dimension to its growth trajectory, reinforcing its commitment to expand industrial output while contributing to Assam’s economic development.
