All Assam Bishnu Rabha Memorial drama competition culminates at Sootea

Biswanath Chariali: Sadou Asom Bishnu Rabha Khuwornai Ekanka Nat Pratiyogita (All Assam Bishnu Rabha Memorial One Act Drama Competition) convened by Sootea Natya Samaj in association with the general public of the greater Sootea area held with a two-day programme on December 27 and 28 here at Natya Bhawan, Sootea. A total of 19 drama teams, 11 teams on the first day and 8 on the second day across the corner of the state participated in the state level competition. The first day competition was inaugurated by Aishyarya Kakaty, an eminent dramatist while the second day drama competition was inaugurated by Naduar MLA Padma Hazarika and the president of the organizing committee.  

A Beautiful Melody, Natya Tirtha, Guwahati won the Radha Kanata Hazarika best drama team trophy along with cash award of forty thousand while Swatir Mak Aaru Hawai Sandelor Fita, Jyoti Shilpa, Nagaon won the second best Kamala Bhagawati memorial trophy along with thirty thousand cash amount. Bidal Tapashi, Sarathi Natya Gosthi, Bokakhat won the third best Nishi Bordoloi memorial trophy with a cash amount of twenty thousand. Poharor Chha, Abala Theatre won Chandra Hazarika memorial most discipline team trophy with cash amount of ten thousand. Bhargav Jyoti Kalia, Sarathi Natya Gosthi who played the role of Mekuri (cat) won the best actor award and was awarded with Rabin Saikia memorial trophy along with a cash amount of five thousand. Adhrisha Rajbangshi, Moroha Golapor Kali, Guwahati won the Ram Prasad Bhuyan memorial best actress award along with a cash amount of five thousand. Pranjal Saikia, Poharor Chha, Abala Theatre, Sootea won the Mahendra Goswami memorial best dramatist trophy along with a cash amount of five thousand. Dipak Kumar Gogoi memorial best director award along with a cash amount of five thousand was won by Nabajyoti Bora, Swatir Mak Aaru Hawai Sandelor Fita, Jyoti Shilpa, Nagaon. Dhriti Kakaty, of the drama Saku, Sristi Kala Kristi, Nagaon won the Girish Sarikia memorial trophy along with two thousand cash. Nishabda Kolahal, Narayanour team won the Mahendra Saikia memorial best stage decoration title along with three thousand cash. Arun Ray Choudhury of Pratimurti team, Biswanath Chariali won the Nandaram Baruah best comedian title along with three thousand cash. Hridaydeep Gogoi of Gondh drama team won the Golap Saikia memorial best co-actor title along with three thousand cash while Jyotshna Sebapati, Gondh team won the Kuladhar Hazarika memorial best co-actress tile along with three thousand cash amount. While Manabendra Duwora, Parag Krishna Goswami, Kishor Pathak and Jyotishree RU Boishya won the jury’s special award, informed Mrinal Goswami, chief convener of All Assam Bishnu Rabha Memorial One Act Drama Competition.

Eminent dramatists Dr Sukdev Adhikari, Julen Bhuyan and Alok Baruah graced the two-day one act drama competition as judges. Eminent personalities who brought laurels to Sootea including Pankaj Jyoti Bhuyan, Dhritimoy Mahanta, Anjan Baskota, Chimpi Saikia, Biswajit Sut were felicitated during the inaugural session of the second day programme. Naduar MLA and the president of the organizing committee felicitated all the dignitaries with gamosa and memento. The proceedings were conducted by Debananda Saikia, Manoj Saikia and Mrinal Goswami. The two-day drama competition was attended by dignitaries and distinguished personalities far and wide.
