Visit of Maj Gen Anurag Vij to Tezpur Group 

Tezpur: Major General Anurag Vij ADG NCC for the North Eastern Region visited  Tezpur Group on December 29. The ADG inspected the Army Camp of the SW Cadets currently underway at 155 BH. 

The ADG visited Darrang College Unit of 5 Assam Bn NCC wherein he was honoured with guard of honour presented by the cadets of 5 Assam Battalion of NCC at Darrang College accorded warm welcome by its commanding officer, Col. Unni Krishna and administrative officer, Col. Madhab Chandra Boro. In connection to the maiden visit of the top ranking officer a colourful cultural function was also organized with the participation of Bihu, Bagrumba and other ethnic dance’s groups to showcase the traditional cultural richness of the region before the officer.  Speaking on the occasion, the ADG complimented the cadets for their enthusiasm and skills. The ADG also had a detailed interaction with the cadets over Tea. He was briefed on the conduct of the training by the officers after which the ADG addressed the cadets and motivated them to learn these life-saving skills and become responsible citizens of the Nation.

It was followed by a tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation  by laying a wreath at the 1962 war memorial at the circuit house area war memorial in Tezpur. This war memorial marks the place where ashes of martyrs of the 1962 operations were immersed in 1963.
