“Sudinar Sankalpa” programme by ‘Charoiwoti’ held in Lakhimpur

North Lakhimpur: Like the previous years, the Charoiwoti Publication House of Lakhimpur district organized the ‘Sudinar Sankalpa’ programme on the New Year’s Day to take pledge for continuing good works for the betterment of the society, uplift of culture and literature, strengthening the bond of unity and harmony throughout the upcoming year. Simultaneously in the same event the publication house celebrated the completion of 21 years of the “Charoiwoti”, the terminal magazine regularly published by the house from North Lakhimpur. The day-long event was organized in a befitting manner in association with ‘Sabda’, a literary body, at the beautiful landscape on the bank of the Somdiri, near NH-15 at North Lakhimpur town. A good number of literary figures, cultural-social activists, including the local public, assembled in the event and took resolution to work for the wellbeing of mankind with united strength throughout the upcoming years.

The event was held under the management of Charoiwoti editor Kalyani Chakraborti Gogoi, writer-port Mukut Gogoi, Sabda secretary Bubul Hazarika and poet Partha Pratim Sarmah. It began with the lighting of ceremonial lamps by senior poet Dilip Gogoi, Tafiqur Rahman of ‘Birina Gosthi’ and members of the Charoiwoti Publication House. It was followed by a rendition of ‘Borgeet’ by Urvashi Das. Then Satyavan Das, Achintya Das, Shobhan and Bikash Das launched a book titled as “Krishnastu Bhagawan Swayam” authored by writer Mohan Kumar Das. In the same event, ‘Sabda-Charaiveti’ Sourabh Award’ was conferred on prominent artiste Mridul Baruah progressive writer-cum-social worker Dulal Pujari was accorded warm felicitation by the Charoiwoti Publication House. Another book (drama) by Mohan Kumar Das, titled ‘Ei Mrityu Amak Nalage’ was released by Lakhimpur District Journalists’ Association president Kumud Baruah. Attending the event Lakhimpur District Commissioner Pranab Jit Kakaty and Senior Superintendent of Police Gunendra Deka ceremonially released a video of a recited poem titled as ‘Kangkan’, composed by journalist Bubul Hazarika. More than thirty poets from Nalbari, Barpeta, Dhemaji and Lakhimpur, including Dr. Jagadish Goswami, Dilip Kumar Gogoi, Jiten Baruah, Jyu Cheng Oi Changmai, Nayanmoni Das, Hemchandra Kachari, Nazlina Alom, Bhagyalakhi Deka, Tafiqur Rahman, Hasina Mumtaj, Mohan Kumar Das, Bobita Bhuyan, Surajit Pathak, Ranjit Kakati, Julie M Baruah, Partha Pratim Sarmah etc. recited poems in the event while Kristi Hazarika performed the ‘Dashawovatar Ntitya and Nishigandha Gogoi presented a creative dance. Radio artiste Meera Begum, Labanya Dutta Saikia, Bijoya Tamuli Gogoi, Minati Goswami Pujari, Priyamjyoti Phukan, Banti Lekharu presented songs. Attending the event, several prominent figures of Lakhimpur working in different fields shared their thoughts.
