Guwahati: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is in full swing promoting his upcoming courtroom drama Jolly LLB 3, in which he shares screen space with Arshad Warsi. During a recent trailer launch event in Kanpur, the actor not only spoke about the film but also delivered a firm public message against gutka (chewing tobacco) consumption.
When a journalist attempted to interrupt him, Akshay—known for his quick wit—replied sharply, “Interview mera hai ya tumhara? Main bol raha hoon, gutka nahi khana chahiye, that’s it.” Clips of his candid remarks quickly went viral on social media, reinforcing his anti-gutka stance. The message comes in the backdrop of a government notice issued to Akshay, Shah Rukh Khan, and Ajay Devgn in December 2023 for appearing in gutka-related advertisements.

Akshay subsequently stepped down as a pan masala brand ambassador and publicly apologized to fans. On the film front, Jolly LLB 3 marks the return of Akshay Kumar as Jolly Mishra and Arshad Warsi as Jolly Tyagi, with veteran actor Saurabh Shukla reprising his role as Judge Tripathi. Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, and Gajraj Rao join the ensemble cast. Speaking about reprising his role, Akshay said, “It’s not just about reviving a character, it’s about putting him in the courtroom against another Jolly, played brilliantly by Arshad.
The energy, humour, and conflict between us made every scene unpredictable. The trailer is just a glimpse of that madness.” Directed by Subhash Kapoor and produced by Star Studio18, Jolly LLB 3 is slated for a nationwide release on September 19, 2025. The film promises courtroom drama, humour, and high-voltage performances, while Akshay continues to use his public platform to promote health-conscious messages.
