Morigaon: At least five people were injured in a serious road accident at Oujari in Morigaon district on Monday following a head-on collision between two vehicles, police said.
According to preliminary information, the accident involved a utility vehicle and a passenger car travelling in opposite directions. One of the vehicles was coming from Ghagua, while the other was heading from Morigaon towards Guwahati, when the collision occurred.
All the injured were identified as teachers of Morigaon B.Ed College. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, where their condition was reported to be stable.

The injured have been identified as Nibedita Deka, Bornali Hazarika, Suchadita Deb Nandi, Lopamudra Das and Bishal Chetri.
Police reached the spot soon after the incident and have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. Traffic movement along the affected stretch was temporarily disrupted following the mishap but was later restored to normal.
