His career reached a defining moment with Tum Hi Ho from Aashiqui 2 (2013), which firmly established him as a leading playback singer. From that breakthrough, Singh’s repertoire expanded with compositions centred on heartbreak, longing and quiet resilience. Songs such as Agar Tum Saath Ho (Tamasha, 2015) and Channa Mereya (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, 2016) stood out for their emotional restraint and depth, becoming benchmarks for modern Bollywood ballads.
