USTM to Host AIU East Zone Inter-University Handball Tournament

Guwahati: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) is all set to host the prestigious AIU East Zone Inter-University Handball Tournament 2025–26 for both men and women from February 10 to 15 at its campus sports complex. The much-anticipated tournament is being organised under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

The inaugural ceremony will be graced by Meghalaya’s Sports Minister Wailadmiki Shylla as the Chief Guest. His presence is expected to add significance to the opening event and motivate participating athletes, officials, and students from universities across the East Zone.

The five-day championship will feature competitive matches among top university handball teams from the region, showcasing athletic excellence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Players, coaches, and technical officials from several institutions will take part, making it one of the major inter-university sporting events in the eastern region this academic year.
