Itanagar, June 25: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress on June 25 launched the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ movement from Kra Daadi district as part of the Indian National Congress’s nationwide outreach campaign focused on issues affecting students across the country.
The campaign briefing in Kra Daadi was led by Tap Tapum, President of the Block Congress Committee (BCC), along with the Block President and General Secretary representing Tali and Kra Daadi districts.
During the programme, Congress leaders raised concerns related to student welfare and referred to alleged incidents of harassment and student suicides involving candidates who had appeared for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). The party leaders also demanded the resignation of the Union Education Minister, holding the ministry accountable for concerns surrounding student-related issues.
‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’, meaning ‘Students’ Voice’, is a nationwide student-centric initiative launched by the Indian National Congress under the leadership of Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
According to party leaders, the campaign officially began on June 17, 2026, with the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj Maha Rally’ held at Dussehra Maidan in Kota, Rajasthan, one of the country’s major education and coaching centres.
As part of the second phase of the movement, simultaneous press conferences were organised across the country on June 25. A total of 28 Congress leaders addressed media interactions in 28 major cities, aiming to broaden the campaign’s outreach and bring student-related concerns to the forefront of national discourse.
