Sivasagar: Assam’s armwrestling star Sabnam Yesmine Ara Begum has brought glory to the state by securing two gold medals at the 6th BCAI National Armwrestling Championship 2026, held in Bengaluru from June 12 to 14. Representing Assam in the prestigious national championship, Sabnam delivered an outstanding performance in the Masters Women’s 78 kg category. She clinched gold medals in both the right-hand and left-hand events, establishing her dominance on the national stage. Her remarkable achievement has earned her selection to the Indian national team for the upcoming World Armwrestling Championship, scheduled to be held in Japan this September.
