Nagaon: Public Health Engineering Minister Krishnendu Paul visited Nagaon district today to review the progress of various development schemes being implemented under the department, with special focus on the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’. On his arrival at Nagaon, the Minister attended an important review meeting at the conference hall of the Nagaon Zila Parishad office. During the meeting, the minister discussed ensuring proper coordination of drinking water supply services for the people of the district, timely delivery of services, speedy implementation of departmental schemes, and field-level priorities.

The review meeting was held in the presence of District Commissioner Devashish Sharma. Based on a PowerPoint presentation and data collected by departmental engineers, the Minister conducted a detailed review of the progress of the schemes. He discussed implementation status and field-level priority issues and directed officials to take necessary steps. During the meeting, the Minister also issued urgent instructions to make all non-functional water supply schemes in Nagaon district operational within the next ten days.
The meeting was attended by Nagaon Zila Parishad President Geetanjali Hazarika, Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad – Manoj Sikaria, Chief Engineer of PHE Department (Sanitation) Pallab Kumar Das, Chief Engineer of PHE Department (Water) Ramya Sharma, Additional District Commissioners Dipankar Barman and Mridul Bodo, District Information and Public Relations Officer Bikash Sharma, representatives of MLAs of the district, all Block Development Officers, and officials and staff of the Public Health Engineering Department. After the meeting, the Minister proceeded to Dhing, where he inspected several water supply schemes and took stock of the ground situation.
