Guwahati, Aug 19: The NCC Group Headquarters, Guwahati, organised a two-day programme on August 18 and 19 to promote awareness of national security, youth leadership, responsible citizenship and nation-building under the Rashtriya Suraksha Protsahan Yojana of the Governor of Assam.
The 1 Assam Battalion NCC hosted the programme at Gauhati Commerce College (Autonomous), featuring debate and essay competitions as well as an awareness session on hospitality and tourism entrepreneurship. Brigadier Ranjit Borthakur, SM (Retd.), delivered an inspirational address, followed by prize distribution and felicitation of NCC achievers. Around 100 cadets from five institutions took part.
At Nalbari College, NCC cadets participated in debate and essay competitions on national responsibility, environmental awareness and youth leadership. Mahit Rabha, Deputy Director of the MY BHARAT Programme, Nalbari, conducted an expert session on the role of youth in community mobilisation and nation-building.
Around 150 cadets from 10 institutions across Nalbari and Bajali districts participated in the programme.
