Itanagar, May 1: The Central Bureau of Investigation is set to hold a coordination meeting with senior officials of the Arunachal Pradesh government on May 5 as part of a preliminary inquiry into alleged irregularities in contract works in the state, an exercise mandated by the Supreme Court of India.
According to an official notice issued by the Public Works Department, the meeting will take place at the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar at 4 pm. It will involve nodal officers from multiple departments along with CBI representatives.
The meeting is being convened in connection with the case titled Save Mon Region Federation vs State of Arunachal Pradesh & Others. Senior officials, including chief engineers from key departments such as Public Works, Public Health Engineering, Urban Development, Water Resources, Rural Works, Hydropower and Power, have been directed to attend.
Officials have also been asked to provide detailed information sought by the CBI regarding several firms, including M/S Brand Eagles, M/S R D Constructions, M/S Alliances Traders, M/S Frontiers Associates, M/S Goleng Construction, M/S Global Royal Constructions and M/S Khandu Construction. The notice specifies that all required data must be submitted during the meeting in accordance with the proforma shared by the agency.
The development comes amid increased scrutiny of public contract works in Arunachal Pradesh, with the court-ordered inquiry expected to examine alleged procedural lapses and ensure accountability.
