Guwahati, May 29: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on May 29 said the goal of building a “Viksit Assam” can only be achieved through sustained and inclusive development that benefits every household across the state.
Sharing his vision on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister said development must move beyond announcements and translate into real economic progress for ordinary people.
“Our vision is clear to reduce Assam’s BPL population to below 3% in the next five years by expanding opportunities and ensuring growth touches every family across the state,” Sarma stated.
The remarks come as the Assam government continues to focus on poverty reduction, employment generation, welfare initiatives and infrastructure expansion aimed at improving socio-economic conditions across the state.
