Guwahati: Kunal Sarma has been appointed captain of the Guwahati team for the upcoming Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy Senior Inter-District Cricket Tournament, with Akash Sengupta named as his deputy. Guwahati will open their campaign against Nalbari at the ACA Stadium in Barsapara on Sunday. The team’s second league fixture is scheduled against Bongaigaon on April 26, as they aim for a strong start in the prestigious inter-district tournament.

The squad features a balanced mix of experienced players and emerging talent. Key members include Rishav Das, Pradyun Saikia, and wicketkeepers Hrishikesh Tamuli and Syed Zeeshan Armand Zuffri. Other notable players in the lineup are Rohan Hazarika, Sumit Kashyap, Ayushman Malakar, Abdul Ajij Kuraishi, Rohit Singh, Rajveer Singh, Dhruv Raaj Borah, Saahil Jain, Aditya Roy Choudhury, and Manish Mahato.
