New Delhi : In a major counter-terrorism operation, the Delhi Police Special Cell has claimed to have foiled a large-scale terror conspiracy allegedly linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Dawood Ibrahim network, arresting nine suspected operatives and seizing explosives, arms, and hand grenades. According to investigators, the suspected module was allegedly planning coordinated attacks in major cities, including Delhi and Mumbai. Preliminary findings suggest that critical installations, security personnel, and religious places could have been among the intended targets.

Officials said the operation led to the arrest of nine individuals, including some allegedly linked to cross-border networks. A significant cache of weapons, sophisticated explosive material, and multiple hand grenades believed to have originated from Pakistan was recovered during the raids. Intensive interrogation of the accused is currently underway to determine the full scope of the alleged conspiracy and identify other members of the network. The Delhi Police Special Cell stated that the arrests have disrupted what appeared to be a coordinated terror module operating with alleged support from Pakistan-based handlers and the Dawood Ibrahim-led underworld network. Authorities are investigating possible links between the suspects and other terror-related activities across the country.
The development comes amid heightened security concerns and recent investigations into Pakistan-linked terror networks involving the smuggling of explosives, weapons, and improvised explosive devices through various routes. Security agencies have intensified surveillance and intelligence operations to prevent potential attacks and dismantle cross-border terror infrastructure. While officials have not yet disclosed the identities of those arrested, security agencies described the operation as a significant breakthrough in preventing a possible large-scale terror strike. Further investigations are continuing to establish the extent of the network’s activities and any additional domestic or international connections.
