Manipur Final Electoral Rolls Put Electorate at 19.6 Lakh

IMPHAL, Sept 6: Final photo electoral rolls for all 60 Assembly constituencies in Manipur were published on Sunday, putting the state’s total electorate at 19,60,620.

The final rolls comprise 9,53,350 male, 10,06,962 female and 308 third-gender electors. The elector-population ratio stands at 51.99, while the gender ratio is 1,056.

The final figures followed an extensive revision exercise. Before the draft roll, Manipur had 20,93,076 registered electors. During enumeration, 19,34,399 forms were received, while 1,58,677 electors whose forms were not received were excluded from the draft roll.

Authorities issued 12,21,833 notices, including 91,178 to unmapped electors and 11,30,655 over logical discrepancies. Following hearings and document verification, 26,362 electors were found ineligible due to reasons including inadequate documentation, absence, death, shifting and duplication.

During the claims and objections period from July 5 to August 4, authorities processed 96,985 claims and objections. The exercise resulted in the addition of 56,871 electors and deletion of 30,650.

The service voters’ list was also published on Sunday, with July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date. It contained 20,819 service electors.

Electors were advised to verify their names at the offices of Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers. The final rolls were also made available on the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur’s website.

Copies of the final rolls for each Assembly constituency were handed over to authorised representatives of recognised national and state political parties at a meeting on Sunday.
