N. Biren Singh Pays Tribute to BSF Constable Deepak Chingakham Awarded Vir Chakra Posthumously

Imphal, June 9: Senior BJP leader and former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh paid tribute to late BSF Constable Deepak Chingakham, who was posthumously conferred the prestigious Vir Chakra for his exceptional bravery and supreme sacrifice in service of the nation.

The gallantry award was received by the constable’s family members during the investiture ceremony held on June 8.

In a message shared on X, Biren Singh expressed profound respect for the fallen soldier, describing him as a brave son of Manipur whose courage and dedication embodied the highest ideals of patriotism and service.

“I pay my deepest respects to Constable (Late) Deepak Chingakham of the Border Security Force, a brave son of Manipur, who has been posthumously awarded the Vir Chakra for his exceptional courage and supreme sacrifice in service of the nation,” Singh said.

The former Chief Minister stated that the late constable’s valour and unwavering commitment to duty would continue to inspire future generations and serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by security personnel in safeguarding the country.

“Manipur stands proud of its fallen hero and salutes his sacrifice for the motherland,” he added.

The posthumous conferment of the Vir Chakra recognises Deepak Chingakham’s extraordinary courage and dedication to duty. His sacrifice has been widely acknowledged as a matter of pride for both Manipur and the nation, with tributes pouring in honour of his service and heroism.
