New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet in the November 2025 Red Fort blast case, naming Umer Un Nabi as the alleged mastermind and operational in-charge of a revived terror module, according to the agency’s findings reported on Wednesday. Nabi, who was killed in the explosion, allegedly worked from early 2022 to revive a dormant Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH) network and build a module for carrying out terrorist activities, the NIA has alleged. The agency claims he played a central role in radicalising recruits, organising clandestine meetings and coordinating the group’s activities.

The chargesheet reportedly details the use of encrypted communication platforms and alleges that members of the module were involved in arranging funds, procuring weapons and securing locations. Investigators have also examined extremist literature allegedly circulated among members of the group. According to the NIA, the vehicle involved in the November 10, 2025 explosion had been converted into a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device. Forensic examination of material recovered after the blast reportedly detected explosive residues, while DNA analysis was used to establish Nabi’s identity.
The blast near the Red Fort at around 6:50 pm on November 10 killed 11 people and injured 29 others, besides damaging nearby property and vehicles. Since Nabi died in the explosion, proceedings against him have been abated. The allegations contained in the chargesheet will remain subject to judicial scrutiny and the outcome of the legal proceedings.
