In a separate meeting, the minister assessed the implementation of oil palm cultivation under the National Mission on Edible Oils–Oil Palm (NMEO-OP). Discussions focused on expanding oil palm cultivation across the state and enhancing domestic edible oil production.  Hazarika emphasized that successful implementation of the irrigation project would contribute significantly to the vision of “Har Khet Ko Pani” and serve as a model for similar initiatives in Assam. He also noted that expanding oil palm farming could boost farmers’ incomes while supporting India’s goal of self-reliance in edible oils.

Reiterating the state government’s commitment to sustainable agricultural growth, the minister stressed the importance of effective coordination among stakeholders to improve irrigation coverage and strengthen Assam’s agricultural sector.
