Senior KCP Leader Arrested in Delhi, Arms Cache Recovered in Manipur

Imphal, May 28: A senior leader of the banned militant organisation Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) was arrested in Delhi during a joint operation carried out by the Delhi Police Special Cell, Manipur Police and central intelligence agencies.

The arrested militant has been identified as Haobijam Dilip Singh. According to security officials, Singh had allegedly travelled to the national capital to attend a clandestine meeting when he was apprehended by the joint team.

Authorities stated that the accused is facing more than 12 cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) along with several other related charges linked to insurgent activities.

Following his arrest, security agencies reportedly conducted an interrogation that led to a recovery operation in Manipur’s Kakching district. During the operation, officials seized a large cache of arms, ammunition and logistical materials allegedly connected to militant operations.

The recovered items included weapons, ammunition, bags of different colours, a tarpaulin sheet, plastic bags and a Redmi 13C mobile phone. Security officials believe the materials were being used in connection with insurgent activities in the region.

Agencies involved in the operation described the arrest and subsequent recovery as a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts to dismantle militant networks operating in Manipur and nearby areas.

Officials said further investigation is underway to identify other operatives and trace additional links associated with the banned outfit.
