Zubeen Garg Fan Club Calls for Peaceful Protest in Guwahati on October 30

The All Assam Zubeen Garg Fan Club has called for a peaceful demonstration at Chachal in Guwahati on October 30, demanding justice for Assamese singer Zubeen Garg.

The protest will be held from 10 am to 2 pm, with the organisers appealing to fans, supporters and members of the public to participate.

Garg’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, announced the programme in a Facebook post, urging those who loved the singer to unite and raise their voices peacefully for justice.

The organisers said they had applied for the necessary administrative permission to hold the demonstration at Chachal, in the Six Mile area of Guwahati.

The decision to organise the protest followed the response to an earlier demonstration held on October 12, according to the fan club. Several people had expressed their willingness to attend the previous programme but could not participate because it had been organised at short notice.

The organisers have now appealed for wider participation, seeking to bring together supporters from different parts of Assam. They have stressed that the demonstration must remain peaceful while collectively reiterating the demand for justice.

Garg, one of Assam’s most prominent musical figures, died in Singapore in September 2025. His death sparked widespread public concern in the state, with fans and supporters continuing to demand justice in the case.
