According to sources, the money was found inside a black scooter bearing registration number AS 02 R 8641 that had been left parked along the Salana–Borjuri road under the jurisdiction of Samaguri Police Station.

Local residents reportedly noticed the unattended vehicle at a secluded location and alerted the police. Following the information, teams from Samaguri Police Station and Salana Police Station reached the spot and conducted a search of the vehicle, during which the cash was recovered.

Police officials said the scooter had been parked under suspicious circumstances with the money kept inside, prompting questions about why such a large amount of cash had been left unattended in a remote area.
