Owaisi Rallies Support in Assam, Backs AIUDF and Predicts Consolidated Minority Vote

Guwahati, April 3: Asaduddin Owaisi, president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, on April 2 delivered a strong political message during campaign events in Assam, asserting confidence and resilience amid intensifying electoral contest ahead of the Assembly polls.

Addressing a gathering in Morigaon district, Owaisi struck a defiant tone, stating that his supporters would not be intimidated by political opposition and emphasising unity and determination within his base.

Later, at a rally in Binnakandi constituency, he extended support to Badruddin Ajmal and candidates of the All India United Democratic Front, projecting the party as a key player in the upcoming elections. He claimed that Muslim voters in the state would vote in a consolidated manner in favour of the AIUDF and asserted that the party’s candidates would secure significant victories.

Owaisi also criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party, accusing it of pursuing divisive politics, while taking aim at the Indian National Congress for what he described as its silence on such issues. He argued that the prevailing political environment has contributed to increased support for the AIUDF among minority communities.

His remarks come at a time when political parties are intensifying campaign efforts across Assam, with the April 9 Assembly elections drawing closer.
