BRO Eastern Region Conference in Guwahati Focuses on Infrastructure Targets and Project Acceleration

Guwahati, May 1: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) convened a two-day Chief Engineers Works Conference for its eastern region projects in Guwahati on April 28 and 29, with discussions centred on strengthening infrastructure delivery and meeting operational targets for the current financial year.

The conference was chaired by Jitendra Prasad, Additional Director General Border Roads (East), and was attended by seven Chief Engineers representing various BRO projects in the region, along with the Commandant of the Engineer Base Workshop.

Deliberations focused on outlining a strategic roadmap for ongoing and upcoming works, with emphasis on enhancing operational efficiency, optimising the use of resources and ensuring timely completion of key infrastructure projects. Officials also discussed the adoption of best practices aimed at improving execution timelines and maintaining high delivery standards.

Addressing the participants, Prasad underscored the importance of accelerating project implementation without compromising on quality. He noted that robust infrastructure plays a critical role in operational effectiveness while also contributing to public confidence and the organisation’s credibility.

The conference concluded with a renewed commitment to achieving higher performance benchmarks and expediting strategically significant road projects across the eastern sector. Officials indicated that the outcomes of the meeting are expected to inject fresh momentum into ongoing works and reinforce the BRO’s contribution to national infrastructure development.
