Public Welfare Key to BJP Growth, Says Tripura CM at Party Training Launch

Agartala, May 6: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on May 6 said that welfare-driven governance and development-focused policies remain central to the expansion of the Bharatiya Janata Party, asserting that continued work in the public interest would naturally strengthen support for the party.

Addressing party leaders and workers after inaugurating the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Training Mahabhibhajan 2026 in Agartala, Saha said the initiative is aimed at reinforcing the party’s organisational structure from the mandal level to the grassroots.

He noted that the programme, inspired by the ideals of Deendayal Upadhyaya, seeks to develop disciplined and capable leadership with a strong focus on public service. Training, he said, has long been an integral component of the party’s functioning and is conducted annually across multiple organisational tiers.

According to Saha, the current cycle will begin at the mandal level, followed by district, state, and booth-level sessions. The mandal-level training will cover seven subjects designed by the central leadership, along with discussions on development initiatives undertaken by the state government. District-level sessions will expand the curriculum to 12 subjects before progressing further.

Emphasising the party’s ideological approach, the Chief Minister said BJP workers must prioritise the nation, society, and the welfare of marginalised communities above personal or political interests. He added that public trust can only be sustained through consistent engagement and service.

Saha also announced that party spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty has been appointed as the convener for this year’s training programme.
