Aizawl, June 2: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on June 1 said that the state is eligible to receive Rs 650 crore under the Centre’s Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) programme during the current financial year.
Addressing a meeting-cum-workshop on SASCI and the Real-time System of Integrated Quick Transfers (SNA SPARSH) in Aizawl, Lalduhoma, who also holds the finance portfolio, highlighted that technological advancements have significantly transformed the management of central funds, improving efficiency, transparency and accountability in public financial administration.
He noted that SNA SPARSH has emerged as a key platform for the receipt and management of a major share of government funds. Stressing its importance, he called on all departments to develop a clear understanding of the system to ensure smooth execution of development schemes across the state.
The Chief Minister further informed that Mizoram had earlier received Rs 350 crore as an incentive under SASCI Part 9, attributed to the state’s strong financial management and coordinated implementation efforts in the previous financial year. He added that the government is determined to secure all reform-linked incentives available under various components of the SASCI programme in the current year as well.
Lalduhoma also said that the state government has delegated financial powers to administrative heads under the Charter of Financial Advisers, aimed at expediting administrative approvals and speeding up expenditure sanctions.
Emphasising timely utilisation of funds, the Chief Minister urged all departments to ensure prompt use of sanctioned allocations and to close SNA SPARSH accounts without delay, with the objective of enhancing overall efficiency in public financial management across Mizoram.
