AGP Appoints Mahesh Kumar Doley as Dhakuakhana Assembly Council In-Charge President

DHAKUAKHANA, Oct 27: The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has appointed central executive committee member Mahesh Kumar Doley as the in-charge president of its Dhakuakhana Assembly Council.

The decision was taken at an organisational meeting held at the party’s Dhakuakhana Assembly Council office, Samanway Bhawan, on October 26, following directions from the party’s central and district committees. The meeting was presided over by district committee vice-president Rajendra Prasad Gogoi.

The meeting began with a minute’s silence in memory of former constituency committee president Dulal Dutta, whose recent demise was recalled by party members, who paid tribute to his contributions to the organisation and society.

Addressing the gathering, Lakhimpur district AGP president Dipak Bordoloi urged party workers to strengthen the organisation and prepare for the upcoming Mising Autonomous Council (MAC), Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council and other local body elections.

Following discussions on organisational matters, members unanimously appointed Doley as the in-charge president of the Dhakuakhana Assembly Council. He was also given responsibility for heading the Constituency Election Management Committee for the upcoming Mising Autonomous Council elections.

The meeting was attended by central committee members Pranjal Dehingia and Tankeswar Bora, district committee general secretary Diganta Rajkhowa, assembly council vice-presidents Kaluram Doley, Haren Dutta and Ranjit Kumar Bora, and secretaries Samujjal Chetia and Nabin Pegu.

Rupanjali Chutia, president of the women’s wing, Mahila Parishad, and its secretary Nitumoni Gogoi, along with representatives of various frontal organisations and regional units, also attended the meeting and shared organisational suggestions.
