The Assam Government has announced that its flagship digital governance platform, Sewa Setu, has delivered more than 1.5 crore government services online, highlighting the initiative as a major step towards making public services more accessible and improving the ease of living for citizens across the state.
Sharing the update, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the government remains committed to leveraging technology to ensure that governance is accessible at the fingertips of every citizen.
According to the state government, Sewa Setu currently provides more than 800 online services offered by 47 government departments and three Autonomous Sixth Schedule Councils. The platform has achieved a service disposal rate of over 90 per cent, reflecting its growing role in streamlining the delivery of public services.
The government also stated that the portal has addressed more than 94,000 public grievances, recording an 86 per cent grievance resolution rate. Officials said the platform has strengthened citizen engagement by providing a digital mechanism for accessing services and resolving complaints efficiently.
Sewa Setu has been integrated with DigiLocker and is also available through the UMANG application, allowing users to access government services digitally from any location.
The initiative was showcased as part of the #11YearsOfDigitalIndia campaign, with the Assam Government describing Sewa Setu as a cornerstone of the state’s digital transformation strategy and its efforts to promote citizen-centric governance through technology.
