Mankachar Police have arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized around 19 grams of suspected heroin during an anti-drug operation in the area.
The arrested persons have been identified as Afzalur Rahman and Arif Ahmed, who police suspect were involved in transporting heroin.
During the operation, officers recovered 18 plastic containers containing the suspected contraband from their possession. The seized substance was subsequently taken into police custody.
Police have launched a further investigation to trace the source of the suspected heroin and identify other individuals who may be connected with the alleged trafficking network.
The seizure comes amid intensified anti-drug operations across Assam, with law enforcement agencies stepping up action against suspected narcotics networks.
