Over 300 Youths Participate in RSS District Youth Conference in Hojai

Hojai: Over 300 young people gathered at the Srimanta Sankardev Auditorium in Geeta Ashram on Sunday, August 23, to participate in a District Youth Conference organized by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The event marked the fifth major program held in the district as part of the RSS’s ongoing centenary year celebrations. ​The day-long program began at 10:00 AM with a quiz and a speech competition aimed at encouraging youth participation. The quiz was conducted by Pushpa Bora, while Dr. Monjit Saikia, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sahoo, and Sanjeeb Ghosh served as judges for the speech contest. The session also featured a Vande Mataram song and dance performance guided by Mitrachand Paul. ​The main formal session began at 1:00 PM, hosted by Chiranjit Das. Atal Shil, the coordinator for the youth conference, delivered the welcome address. Dr. Rabishwar Ghosh, a well-known physician from Lumding, attended the program as the chief guest.

​Addressing the gathering, the main speaker, Praveen Shewale (Co-Physical Head of RSS North Assam Province), spoke on the theme “Duties of Today’s Youth.” He urged the participants to stay connected to their cultural values and actively contribute to nation-building. ​The conference saw active participation from youth aged 18 to 35 from across the district. Several senior RSS local leaders were also present, including District Sanghchalak Subodh Rai, Co-Sanghchalak Dr. Gopal Chandra Das, District Karyavah Pankaj Nath, and District Pracharak Govind Barman.
