GUWAHATI: The “E” Company of the 1st Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Lokhra, organised an awareness programme against drug abuse at Nalapara LP School, Lokhra, on Wednesday.
The programme was held under the guidance of 1st Battalion SSB Commandant Sunil Kaushik and was attended by students, local residents and SSB personnel.
Participants were sensitised to the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse on physical and mental health and its adverse impact on individuals, families and society.
The programme encouraged students and community members to stay away from drugs, adopt healthy lifestyles and contribute to creating a drug-free society.
The participants were also made aware of the importance of collective efforts to prevent drug abuse, particularly among the younger generation.
The programme aimed to promote awareness of the dangers of drug abuse and encourage the local community to contribute to the vision of a Drug-Free India.
