Itanagar, April 27: Dilip Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of West Kameng district, conducted an official inspection of the Kimi Hydro Power Station, operated by NEEPCO Limited, to assess its operational status and infrastructure.
He was accompanied by Topek Kakki and the Assistant Commissioner of Buragaon during the visit.
At the project site, the Deputy Commissioner held detailed discussions with the Head of Project and senior officials, focusing on power generation levels, infrastructure conditions, maintenance requirements and overall operational efficiency.
The review also addressed key challenges affecting the facility, with an emphasis on ensuring uninterrupted operations. Kumar stressed the need to maintain stringent safety standards and called for closer coordination between project authorities and the district administration.
Discussions extended to local area development initiatives and corporate social responsibility programmes undertaken by the company. The Deputy Commissioner underscored that such initiatives should deliver tangible benefits to communities residing in nearby areas.
He further highlighted the importance of environmental safeguards and directed strict compliance with regulatory norms in the operation and maintenance of the hydro power station.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various facilities and reviewed the overall condition of the infrastructure. The district administration reiterated its commitment to providing necessary support to ensure the smooth functioning of the project.
