Margherita: The ceremonial distribution of land pattas under Basundhara 3.0 was held at Uttar Margherita Rangamach today, organised by the Margherita Co-District Administration and Margherita Revenue Circle for beneficiaries of 83-Margherita Legislative Assembly Constituency. The event began with a live telecast from Dhemaji, where Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed the gathering, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring land rights for indigenous landless families and institutions through a transparent digital process.
Altogether, 771 beneficiaries were covered under Margherita Revenue Circle. Of these, 460 fall under NIJE (Non-Individual Juridical Entities), including schools, religious bodies and socio-cultural institutions, while 311 beneficiaries are individual indigenous landless families. The initiative aims to provide legal recognition to long-occupied land, enabling access to housing schemes, financial aid and other welfare benefits.
Circle Officer Smt. Gyanjyoti Dutta outlined the scrutiny and categorisation process. As per CDSL-approved data, the circle has also recorded 749 beneficiaries from Tea Garden Labour Lines, 464 under Individual Government Land, 200 from Non-Cadastral villages and 333 under the Moran-Matak Special Category. MLA Bhaskar Sharma thanked the Chief Minister and congratulated the beneficiaries. Senior officials, including Co-District Commissioner Rahul Doley, ACS, along with department representatives and members of the press, attended the programme.
