Guwahati, March 3: An 18-member tourist group from Duliajan in Assam has been left stranded in Dubai after flights were cancelled following heightened tensions triggered by a reported Iranian attack, members of the group said.
The travellers had been scheduled to return to India on March 3, but authorities in Dubai reportedly suspended flight operations due to the prevailing security situation, disrupting their travel plans.
Members of the group said the Iranian attack took place a day earlier while they were visiting the iconic Burj Khalifa. They stated that the incident led to increased security measures across the city, followed by the cancellation of several flights.
Despite the uncertainty, the tourists said they are safe and remain in regular contact with their families in Assam. They expressed optimism that flight services would resume shortly, enabling them to return home at the earliest.
