Four-Day UNESCO Mission Knowledge Programme Concludes

Dibrugarh: A four-day ‘Mission Knowledge Programme’ organized by the UNESCO Association, Guwahati concluded on March 21, aiming to promote awareness on the pursuit and empowerment of knowledge across society. The programme, held from March 18 to 21, covered multiple locations including Guwahati, Silapathar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, and Namsai in Arunachal Pradesh. It began at the Guwahati District Library with participation from college teachers and students.

Participants visited Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary and Kamakhya Temple on the first day, followed by a session at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra. The group later travelled to Silapathar, visiting historical sites such as Malini Than and attending an intellectual session at Purbanchal College. In Dibrugarh, a cultural exchange programme was hosted at Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi College, where participants were welcomed by Principal Dr. Sashi Kanta Saikia. The event featured performances, academic interactions, and campus visits.

On March 20, the team visited the Golden Pagoda and Arunachal University, engaging in discussions with university officials. The programme concluded with a visit to the Manohari Tea Estate, where participants learned about tea production. The valedictory session was held at DHSK College, with certificates awarded to participants. Programme coordinator Dr. Ashok Kumar Laskar expressed gratitude for the cooperation extended by all host institutions.
