Nagaon, June 9: Continuing its drive against narcotics trafficking, Rupahihat Police in Assam’s Nagaon district arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized 24 containers filled with suspected narcotic substances during an operation at Latabowa in Rupahihat.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Jabed Ali and Aftab Ali.
During the operation, police also seized a four-wheeler bearing registration number AS 02Z 9008, which was allegedly being used to transport the contraband.
According to police, the seized narcotic substance weighed approximately 36.88 grams and was packed in 24 separate containers.
The two accused have been taken into custody and are being interrogated as part of the investigation. Police officials said efforts are underway to determine the source of the seized drugs, their intended destination and possible links to a wider trafficking network.
Officials added that further investigation is in progress to identify any other individuals connected to the alleged operation.
Rupahihat Police stated that anti-narcotics drives will continue in the area as part of ongoing efforts to curb the trafficking and sale of illegal drugs in the district.
